—A longtime fixture on the San Diego music scene, Mark Bock has filled both the bass and drum spots in many of the area’s most popular bands and has recorded as both for Danny Taddei's projects as well. In addition to being a full-time member of several bands, Mark is frequently the first-call substitute for either instrument. Clearly, his most in-demand characteristic is his encyclopedic knowledge of the list of songs that cover bands might want to play. In addition to this, his creative use of deceptively simple, yet intricate rhythmic and melodic structures when performing others’ original works is always musically satisfying. Equally at home holding down the low end on four and five string electric bass or “driving the bus” from behind the drumkit, Mark slides easily among rock, blues, country, pop, metal and even a little jazz from time to time. Mark is currently involved in: (on bass) James Steele, Rocket Surgery, OFU and Time Machine; (on drums) Journeymen (a Journey tribute band), as well as a core member of the Carmel Mountain Church praise and worship band.
